The main requirements of the design of the Centre for Living and Care De Bloemschevaert were that it had to connect to the architecture of the surrounding historical buildings and from the exterior not to appear like an assisted living facility. Using digital ceramic glass printing Steinfort met these requirements. They used photographs of the historic city hall building and reproduced them on glass facade. The low frequency LPI technique they used allowed them to imitate screen printing image processing but without the expensive screens. This technique also allowed them to print a quality image for long distance viewing as well as retain transparency.
